SUPREME RELIEF MUSCLE RUB
First adopted by the Aboriginal people of Australia to heal most wounds, Eucalyptus leaves were made into infusions and used to treat body pains. The cooling scent of Eucalyptus is known to relieve mental exhaustion by boosting circulation to the brain, thereby stimulating the mind and rejuvenating the spirit.
Comfrey has been prized since ancient times for its ability to help heal damaged tissues. Research has now shown Comfrey contains the plant chemicals allantoin and rosmarinic acid. Allantoin is able to accelerate cellular mitosis (meaning it speeds up the process of new tissue growth), while rosmarinic acid helps to relieve pain and inflammation.
Capsicum, also known as red pepper or chili pepper, is most commonly used for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis, and other painful conditions. The fruit of the capsicum plant contains a chemical called capsaicin which helps reduce pain sensations when applied to the skin.
Arnica oil contains helenalin, a powerful anti-inflammatory, making it a must-have for any natural first aid kit. Its ability to reduce pain and disease-causing inflammation comes in handy for all kinds of bruises, aches, sprains and even arthritis flare-ups.
Wintergreen leaf contains an aspirin-like chemical and can be applied to the skin as a “counterirritant” to help relieve muscle pain. Counterirritants work by causing irritation that reduces inflammation in the underlying tissue.
